What is good legal writing?

Of course, we think that there are several features of good writing, across a wide spectrum of legal disciplines. We hope that these workshops will familiarize you with those features. But right now, for the purposes of this one question, we’re not asking you to tell us what you think some textbook might say about good legal writing. Instead, we want your own, personal, sense of what good legal writing looks like. What do you think is needed for good legal writing?  What makes it good, and why?
